Hi all U’s fans, It’s been a while since I updated the site so I thought I’d use my recent departure to say a really big thank you for making me feel such a big part of Colchester United’s recent history.
I’ve seen literally hundreds of players arrive and depart over the last 14 years at Layer Road and somehow it feels right to be moving on after the curtain finally came down at Layer Road. I am looking forward to meeting up with my new team mates down in Devon. We are going on a short tour to Austria in July so that gives me a great opportunity to get to know the rest of the lads. I’m used to welcoming new players on board so I’m going into unknown territory to some extent.
I am convinced that Colchester United has not seen the last of me and the U’s result will be the first one I look for after every match but I owed it to myself and my family to make the move. I really hope the team bounce back at the first attempt as I honestly feel with the current Chairman and the new stadium, as well as the new recruits that Colchester is at last geared up to be competing at Championship level.
